LikeStore is a distinctive design-led retail concept with stores located in Istanbul’s historic neighbourhoods, including Karaköy and Balat. We designed the brand’s first shopping mall location at Emaar Mall in Istanbul. The aim was to develop a unique concept by combining the street-inspired character of the existing stores and the layered textures of their surroundings with contemporary design details. The store was conceived as a compact space that brings the atmosphere and material richness of Istanbul’s historic neighbourhoods into a modern shopping mall environment. Beyond its physical materials and textures, the design also draws on the everyday routines of the brand’s street-level stores, translating the experience of browsing and discovering products along narrow historic streets into a new retail setting.
